- It seems that many who got Sportsters have pointed out the firmware bug in
- which output lags. Some people are happy, and don't notice the bug. The
- only explanation I can think of is this:

- People who call BBS's or use a terminal to access a shell account are
- affected strongly by the bug because they see charactors get echoed back
- immediately. Then when the bug kicks in, the lag is appearant.

- Where as people who only use a PPP or SLIP via GUI don't even know the bug
- exists because outgoing packet transmissions are transparent to the. The
- user is unable to see the lag. Netscape inparticular- it hides the
- problem because it says something like "connecting to http://www...." and
- it just looks like the lag is in the network.

- It's a shame because GUI people are getting screwed and don't know it.
